Overview
Project ACHIEVE is an innovative school reform and school effectiveness program whose ultimate goal is to help design and implement effective school and schooling processes that maximize the academic and social/emotional/behavioral progress and achievement of all students. To accomplish this, Project ACHIEVE uses an evidence-based Implementation Blueprint that guides schools through a series of carefully sequenced steps over a three-year period. While adapted to the needs and existing status of each school (there are many times when only one or two components of the Blueprint are implemented), the Implementation Blueprint, nonetheless, ensures the integrity of the Project ACHIEVE process so that all schools have the highest probability of success.
While Project ACHIEVE uses many integrated strategic planning processes, effective school and schooling strategies, and proactive and intensive interventions, professional development and building school and staff capacity are critical to its ultimate success. Focusing on "knowledge, skills, and confidence," Project ACHIEVE blends effective in-service training, on-site technical assistance, targeted strategic consultation, and ongoing data collection and evaluation to helps schools meet their local, state, and national goals and outcomes.
Project ACHIEVE's Goals
...are identified through a strategic planning ("Plan for Planning") process and are eventually written into the School Improvement Plan. They focus on Student Outcomes, School Outcomes, and Staff Outcomes. They are relevant to local, state, and national goals. And, they are observable, measurable, and critical to the success of the school.

Project ACHIEVE's Target Populations
Project ACHIEVE components have been implemented in over 1,500 schools across the country--at the preschool through high school levels, and in numerous alternative and "special setting" schools. Project ACHIEVE schools can be found in urban, suburban, and rural settings involving students from very diverse and multicultural backgrounds.

Project ACHIEVE's Three-Year Implementation Blueprint
Project ACHIEVE is implemented in a three-year Implementation Blueprint that is tailored to each participating school. While schools may implement Project ACHIEVE's strategies and activities in different sequences to meet their needs and existing statuses, and while a school or district may focus on only one to three of Project ACHIEVE's seven components, the evidence-based Implementation Blueprint guides the entire process, ensuring the success of each school or district.

Project ACHIEVE's Strategies and Interventions
Project ACHIEVE is a comprehensive school improvement program and process that has a number of goals and desired outcomes across the seven interdependent components that make schools effective and successful. As such, based on strategic planning, needs assessments, and functional analyses, Project ACHIEVE uses many different scientifically-based strategies and interventions to facilitate this success.

Project ACHIEVE Evaluations and Outcomes
During the early stages of Project ACHIEVE planning and at the beginning of its implementation, decisions are made as to how different goals, objectives, activities, and outcomes will be evaluated. In general, Project ACHIEVE designs evaluation approaches in the following five outcome areas:
- Evaluations of School-Level Outcomes
- Evaluations of Staff-Level/Professional Development Outcomes
- Evaluations of Student-Level Outcomes
- Evaluations of Treatment or Implementation Integrity Outcomes
- Evaluations of Project ACHIEVE Satisfaction and Service Outcomes
