Over the years, Project ACHIEVE has developed innovative and effective materials, publications, and strategies to help schools, staff, and students to be more successful. It also has engaged in national partnerships to integrate its good work with others working in the field. The nationally-acclaimed, evidence-based Stop and Think Social Skills Program focuses on teaching students interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. The four Stop & Think levels cover 10 Core and 10 Advanced Skills, ensuring that all skills are taught in a developmentally-sensitive and appropriate way.
The Stop & Think Parenting Book and DVD: A Guide to Children’s Good Behavior
The Stop and Think Parenting Book: A Guide to Children's Good Behavior is based on the evidence-based Stop & Think Social Skills Program.Accompanied by its 75 minute demonstration DVD, this program teaches parents how to teach their children critical interpersonal, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills that will help them succeed in all settings.Focusing on the preschool to late elementary school age span, the Stop & Think Parenting Book focuses on over 20 important behavioral skills, demonstrating how to use them in real life.
The Stop & Think CD Songbook and The Stop & Think Preschool Posters Developed in collaboration with the Core Knowledge Foundation, this new (2007) CD has FIFTEEN lively and engaging original songs that are based on the skill steps of the most important Stop & Think social skills at the preschool through Grade 1 levels.Designed to reinforce the Stop & Think approach, these memorable songs help children to learn the steps to each social skill in a fun and exciting way.
The FOURTEEN new FULL COLOR posters show pictures of children modeling the fourteen different Stop & Think social skills at the preschool through Grade 1 levels.Complete with the specific steps needed to teach each skill, these posters are printed on durable, coated card stock, and on the back of each poster are the lyrics to the corresponding song on the The Stop & Think CD Songbook.
Over the years, Project ACHIEVE has developed a number of practical strategies and interventions to help schools be more successful. Technical Assistance Publications describing these innovative approaches are now available. They cover: (a) newly developed Preschool Social Skills and Classroom/Building Routines for pre-Kindergarten through Middle School applications; (b) developing school-wide Accountability Standards and Expectations; (c) an effective Classroom Time-Out process; (d) Response-to-Intervention and Early Intervention processes; (e) dealing with Common Areas of the School and Teasing, Taunting, Bullying, and Fighting; and (f) a complete Project ACHIEVE Forms Booklet with all of Project ACHIEVE's surveys, forms, and evaluation tools.
